Warranty Agreement

Subject to the provisions described below, eGauge Systems LLC products are protected against defects in material and workmanship for the duration stated in the purchase contract.

📌 Warranty Overview

The standard manufacturer warranty covers eligible defects in material and workmanship. Warranty coverage, exclusions, and replacement options may vary depending on the original purchase terms and whether an optional replacement plan was purchased.

 

Standard Warranty Terms

1. Warranty Start Date

The warranty period begins from the date of sale from eGauge Systems LLC, referred to as the Manufacturer, or from a reseller to the installing party, or six months from the date of sale from the Manufacturer to a reseller, whichever occurs first.

2. Standard Warranty Period

The default warranty period for the Manufacturer’s energy meter product is 2 years.

An additional 3 years may be purchased at the time of purchase, extending the total warranty period to 5 years.

3. Repair or Replacement

If a product fails to perform as described within the warranty period, the Manufacturer will repair or replace it with the same or a functionally equivalent product, at its discretion, free of charge, provided that:

  1. The failed product is returned to the Manufacturer with shipping charges prepaid.
  2. Proof of the original date of purchase is provided to the Manufacturer.

Repaired or replacement products will be returned with shipping charges prepaid.

4. Replacement Product Conditions

Replacement products may be refurbished or contain refurbished materials.

If the Manufacturer determines that it is unable to repair or replace the defective product, the Manufacturer will refund the depreciated purchase price of the product.

5. Standard Warranty Exclusions

This warranty does not apply if, in the judgment of the Manufacturer, the product fails due to damage from shipment, handling, storage, accident, abuse, or misuse.

This warranty also does not apply if the product:

  • Has been used or maintained in a manner that does not conform to product manual instructions.
  • Has been modified in any way.
  • Has had any serial number removed.
  • Has had a QA or tamper resistant sticker removed.
  • Has been defaced, including modifications to, removal of, or unauthorized overlays.
  • Has been repaired by anyone other than the Manufacturer or an approved agent.

Repair by anyone other than the Manufacturer or an approved agent will void this warranty. The maximum liability of the Manufacturer under this warranty is limited to the purchase price of the product covered by the warranty.

6. Environmental Damage Exclusions

This warranty does not apply if, in the judgment of the Manufacturer, the product fails due to environmental damage.

Environmental damage includes, but is not limited to:

  • Surge
  • Overvoltage
  • Lightning strikes
  • Water damage
  • Humidity damage
  • Foreign debris
  • High temperatures
  • Natural disasters

7. Return Materials Authorization

Prior to returning any defective product, the end customer or the reseller from whom the end customer originally purchased the product must obtain a Return Materials Authorization, or RMA, number from the Manufacturer.

All defective products should be returned to the Manufacturer with shipping charges prepaid. The Manufacturer will not accept collect shipments and is not responsible for any devices shipped without an RMA number.

8. Warranty and Liability Limitations

Except as specifically provided in this agreement or as required by law, the warranties and remedies stated above are exclusive and in place of all others, whether oral or written, express or implied.

Any and all other warranties, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non infringement of third party rights are expressly excluded.

The Manufacturer shall not under any circumstances be liable to any person for any special, incidental, indirect, or consequential damages, including, without limitation, damages resulting from use or malfunction of the products, loss of profits or revenues, or cost of replacement goods, even if the Manufacturer is informed in advance of the possibility of such damages.

⚠️ Important

Environmental damage, unauthorized repair, modified equipment, removed serial numbers, or removed QA or tamper resistant stickers may void standard warranty coverage.

 

 

Optional No Questions Asked Replacement Plan

The optional No Questions Asked replacement plan modifies the standard warranty described above.

✅ Plan Summary

The No Questions Asked replacement plan provides expanded coverage for certain types of damage that are excluded under the standard warranty. This plan must be purchased during the initial unit sale.

Additional Terms Added by This Plan

A1. Void Conditions

This policy is void if, in the judgment of eGauge Systems, the unit has purposefully been modified to obscure, replace, or remove the serial number, markings, or components on the device board or enclosure.

A2. Transferability

This policy is transferable between owners and is tied to the unit serial number.

A3. Manufacturer Defect During the First 2 Years

If a unit fails due to a manufacturer defect during the first 2 years, the unit will be replaced and the No Questions Asked plan will be transferred to the replacement unit.

A4. Failure After 2 Years or Non Manufacturer Defect

If a unit fails after 2 years, or fails due to environmental damage or another non manufacturer defect, the replacement unit will include the standard 2 year manufacturer warranty.

📦 Returning a Product

Before returning a product, obtain an RMA number from eGauge Systems. Products returned without an RMA number may not be accepted or processed.
