Overview

The IR302 comes with an accessory kit used for extending the cellular antennas to the outside of an enclosure to decrease the possibility of signal degradation. Follow the steps in this guide to install these accessories if needed.

Prerequisites

• Required tools:
  • H drill bit (0.2660"/6.756mm) appropriate for drilling the enclosure being used.
  • Ratchet or pliers to tighten down the connector nut.
• It is recommended to test-fit all components in the enclosure to mark hole locations and check for  proper fit. Holes and other openings should be cut before installing any equipment in the enclosure.
• For outdoor enclosures, take appropriate installation measures to ensure adequate water-proofing for the installation environment.

Instructions

Before beginning check that you have all of the included parts in the accessory kit:

Step 1: Using an H drill bit (0.2660"/6.756mm) drill holes for the bulkhead connectors in a suitable location on the enclosure. If installing outdoors, take appropriate measures to keep the connections water-tight.

Step 2: Remove the nut and washer from the SMA extension cable connector.

Step 3: Add one of the included rubber o-rings to the bulkhead connector.

Step 4: Insert the connector through the drilled hole from the inside of the enclosure.

Step 5: Add the washer to the connector on the outside of the enclosure and secure with the included nut. 

Step 6: Repeat steps 2 through 5 to assemble the second SMA extension cable to the enclosure. Be sure to install both cellular antennas.

Step 7: Screw the rubber cellular antennas securely onto the installed connectors.

Step 8: Connect the female coax ends of the SMA extension cables to the antenna ports of the cellular router by screwing them in place after the modem has been installed within the enclosure.
