Answer
This occurs when the username and password entered is valid, but the eGauge doesn't accept those credentials for making changes. This will happen for one of two reasons:
-
Insufficient Privileges: The authenticated user lacks the permissions needed to save settings. You can verify your privileges by navigating to Settings -> Access Control.
- LAN-Only Access Restrictions: The authenticated user has permission to change settings but only when connected via the Local Area Network (LAN). If you are accessing the eGauge through a proxy server (e.g., http://DEVNAME.egaug.es or https://DEVNAME.egauge.io) or from a different subnet, these changes cannot be made. To connect directly to the eGauge over the LAN, click on LAN Access in the top-right menu. Note that this option is not available if you are on a different network or subnet.
If you need remote administration enabled so you do not have to go through LAN Access, you may enable it using eGuard Manager or submit a request to our support team here.
