Overview
Power cycling is most often done as a troubleshooting step when the eGauge has dropped offline or has become unresponsive. However, power cycling may be recommended if other cases - for example, if network changes invalidate the DHCP lease, power cycling the eGauge will cause it to request a fresh lease and become available faster.
Prerequisites
To power cycle the you'll need physical access to the eGauge or the circuit breaker powering it. If you're not sure where your eGauge meter is located contact your installer.
- Some eGauge installations (eGauge 2, EG3010 and EG41xx models) may use a HomePlug adapter for connectivity. This is an accessory and should not be mistaken for the eGauge meter its self.
Instructions
Cycling power using the circuit breaker
Step 1: Locate the breaker powering the eGauge. If you don't know where it's located you may need to contact your installer.
Step 2: Once you locate the breaker, trip it so power is off, wait 5 seconds, then turn it back on.
