Overview
It is possible to export data from the eGauge directly into a spreadsheet file. This file is in the CSV format, which is compatible with most common spreadsheet software. Note that certain software may attempt to truncate rows, which can lead to cells filled with # symbols - if this happens, the cell should be resized to fit the text it contains.
The video tutorial below contains a complete walkthrough for the CSV export functionality.
Prerequisites
- This article is related to eGauge meters using the Classic view. For information regarding the Export functionality in the Modern UI please see: LINK
Instructions
Step 1: From the home screen of the Graph page, click on the dropdown menu in the upper left corner of the Graph area and choose Export data to spreadsheet (CSV).

Step 2: Choose the Export type and fill in the time period and interval you'd like to export. The interval that you set will determine how far apart the readings (rows) are timestamped in your spreadsheet.

- Export types:
- Cumulative Value (e.g., kWh for energy): Returns cumulative register values that behave like a meter read. Calculate the difference between rows or the earliest and latest readings to get total kWh value over time.
- Average Value (e.g., kW for Power): Returns average values for the interval specified. Use this type of export for readings such as temperature that don't make sense when viewed as a cumulative value.
- Max Demand Value: For more information, please see: Working with Max Demand data
Step 3: Rename your export file if desired and click Export to begin the file download.
