Overview

The Remote Configuration Control tool exists within a meter's Device Details page. This feature allows a different device's configuration to be copied to this device, assuming the other device is in the user's group and both are online, same model and sufficient registers.

Prerequisites

• To use this tool you must have administrative permissions to an eGuard group.
• The meter the configuration is being copied to and the meter the configuration will be copied from must be on the same firmware version and in the same eGuard group.

Instructions

Step 1: Log into eGauge.net with your account and access your eGuard portfolio by choosing eGuard → Portfolio.

Step 2: Locate the meter you want to copy an existing configuration to and click on the icon to the Left of the device name to access its Device Details page.

Step 3: On the Device Details page, locate the section titled: Remote Configuration Control. 

Click the Fetch Available Devices button:

Step 4: Search for the device that you would like to copy the configuration from and click Copy Register Configuration to continue.

Warning: You'll receive a warning, click OK to continue or Cancel to go back.

When the configuration has successfully copied, a Success message will display at the top of the Device Details page:

Troubleshooting and Tips

• Issue: The Remote Configuration Control doesn't appear on my Device Details page.
  • Solution: Only users with administrative level access will have this tool. Contact your group administrator to check your privilege level.
